Nothing is more important than the safety of your child! Those who don't want to give up mobility and spend a lot of time in the car need child car seats that guarantee the highest level of reliability and safety. That's why there is IsoFix, an internationally standardized fastening system for car seats with its own belt mechanism.

What is IsoFix?

IsoFix is a fastening system for child car seats that is easy and comfortable to operate. The system is standardized and gets its name from ISO standard 13216. Optimum safety is established through a sturdy connection between the car body and the car seat.

What cars are can use IsoFix?

The IsoFix fastening system differentiates between vehicle-specific and universal acceptance. In the case of vehicle-specific acceptance, it should be checked whether the car is equipped with IsoFix. Seat and vehicle manufacturers public such lists. Find out here.

How does IsoFix work?

In the gap between the back rest and seat are two robust metal mounting brackets located 28 cm apart. The respective car seat is anchored at this vehicle-side connection point with rigid mounting brackets attached to the back side of the car seat. These locking arms engage with the mounting brackets via a click locking device. So: Click it in – and it holds!

In the case of the universal acceptance, there is a second fastening measure through an additional belt that goes from the back side of the car seat over the back rest of the vehicle and is then fastened with a hook on a bracket in the car. This additional immobilization prevents an undesired rotation of the seat around the mounting brackets. So the seat stays in place.
