How does IsoFix work?
In the gap between the back rest and seat are two robust metal mounting
brackets located 28 cm apart. The respective car seat is anchored at
this vehicle-side connection point with rigid mounting brackets attached
to the back side of the car seat. These locking arms engage with the
mounting brackets via a click locking device. So: Click it in – and it
holds!
In the case of the universal acceptance, there is a second fastening
measure through an additional belt that goes from the back side of the
car seat over the back rest of the vehicle and is then fastened with a
hook on a bracket in the car. This additional immobilization prevents an
undesired rotation of the seat around the mounting brackets. So the
seat stays in place.
